“We haven’t met in the longest time,

Have we?”, asked he

“Yes, we haven’t, I guess that’s the

Reason I’ve been meeting you in my dreams”,

I replied.

“Let’s go out this evening, and let’s do it

My way this time”, he chuckled

“Just be ready in your favorite summer

dress at 5” he said.

Confused, excited and blushing,

I started getting ready for the evening.

While I managed to do so on time,

My cheeks decided to stay rose pink,

my teeth decided to show its smile,

And my inner self decided to

smitten over him all over again.

He arrived at my doorsteps

exactly on time (surprisingly),

with a handful of orchids and lilies,

in his white linen shirt and

the world’s prettiest grin accompanying it.

Still confused about the destination,

I sat in the car, and

when I asked about the special

treatment I was receiving,

“Just trying to be the gentleman you

think I am” he smirked.

When we reached at the end of

the journey, we were at a

beautiful beach I realized.

We went to an open wooden shack

restaurant at the end of the beach,

and it might sound cliche, but

it turned out to be the best experience

that could exist.

We reached there at the steps of

Dusk, the sun was setting down in the ocean,

the cool breeze that comes with

the changes in the colour of the sky,

the way you can watch birds

going back home, through the untangled fairy lights.

We danced, we talked, we laughed, and

soon we knew that we ate quite a lot!

After dinner, we took a walk on the beach,

it was dark by now, the sea had a

silver lining due to the pretty moonlight,

and the stars in the sky were

shining their best light.

The sand was cool and soothing,

And the breeze was running through,

“Nothing can be as perfect as this”

I said looking into his deep brown eyes,

He nodded as if almost agreeing to it then

he slightly leaned into me,

before his lips touched mine and

his hands ran through my waist,

We stood there barefoot on the sand

kissing the pain of distance away,

Sometimes stealing a glance in the middle

but, knowing that we are not ready to

let each other go.

And then…

I heard my ringtone, and while opening my eyes

I realized, how I was dreaming

the best dream there is,

and how much I miss him amidst the “apocalypse”.

Though, I know one thing for a fact that,

when we’ll actually meet after all this time,

There wouldn't be a beautiful beach,

Untangled fairy lights, lilies and orchids, dance and music,

and yet, it would be perfect,

Because, it's gonna be just me and him,

and after all isn’t that’s all that we need for it to be perfect?
