The Knot Of Overthinking

Trust me when I say this, I’ve never had this much trouble writing any piece, as much as this one piece has caused and maybe that’s because it is one of very important ones.
Overthinking is a process of spiraling over a thought over and over again, obsessively considering the consequences of a particular decision or action. But, it is so much more than that, overthinking is also associated with the way one takes 3 hours to decide ‘what to eat for lunch’ and then end up emptying the nutella can from the shelf, whereas it is also associated with thinking a million times before making a lifetime commitment, to a newsletter from a website. And you know who are the best friends of overthinking? Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Claustrophobia and many other phobias. Well, yeah I know, overthinking is one of the factors that adds up to ‘not so good’ mental health, but it definitely is one of the strongest factors.
Overthinking sometimes makes you believe that all your emotions and feelings are fake, that maybe you are missing someone because of how much you dwell on a thought. And sometimes you actually get stuck in a situation because of overthinking whereas there’s not even a knot to untie. While overthinking sometimes makes you feel pathetic and clingy, the other times it makes you feel you’re not giving it enough thought. But, isn’t that’s the biggest battle for an overthinker, I mean how do you know where the line is and where you are supposed to stop?
The questions really are endless and from a perspective of an overthinker herself, there's no right answer. But, we do know one thing for sure that even if you feel that you cannot stop overthinking, there is another end to this spiral, the end that you can pull and instead of making the knot tight, it’ll loosen it. I know sometimes it’s difficult to find that loose end when your eyesight is a little foggy because of the anxiety, but trust me when you trace it with your fingers and you pull it with even the slightest of strength, the knot inside your throat will loosen itself, your eyesight will be clearer than ever and you’ll feel the strength building back in your every cell.
