"Just Friends"

They were there after quite a long time that night, sitting on that bench in the garden. She always enjoyed looking up in the sky pointing out at every constellation she saw and just speaking out each and every detail about it, and he played the role of a patient listener as she went on. Though he had heard about the Ursa major for a millionth time now, he didn't mind listening to it all over again. Because while she was busy looking up in the sky, he was busy looking at her brighten up face in that dark, those eyes that had a twinkle of child like bliss in them, that brave smile that easily hid all the pain, left hand continuously tucking the strands of her hair behind her ear while  a cold breeze kept making it difficult for her hair to stay there and right hand busy pointing in the sky. He looked at her and listened to every single word she said, as if he could do that all day all night for the rest of his life. And when she suddenly turned towards him and caught him looking at her like that, she saw something shining in his eyes, a feeling of blissfulness, a feeling of contentment, a feeling that she had in her eyes too while she was looking at him. No one said a word after that for a while but, two best friends finally knew that they were more than "just friends".

In that silence, slowly his hands moved towards hers, they were still looking at each other, slightly leaning into her, he whispered into her ears, 'today, I found my forever', she looked at him again, her cheeks felt hot because of the sudden blood rush, and with a wide smile she said, ' I'm glad ' , and then they kissed, they kissed as if it was all they wanted, they kissed as if this was the only reason they were there tonight after so long, they kissed as if they knew that it was all over a new start to their childhood friendship, and they kissed till the infinity of that night.
